Reccomend where to go for makeup makeover...

Can anyone recommend a place for me to go for a decent makeup makeover?

Sephora?
a specific makeup counter in milford, meriden or trumbull mall?
anywhere else?

Can you also reccomend a good hairdress in the new haven county area?

(i used to work in  many salons doing nails, but have yet to find the right hairdresser)

I can't help with the other things, but I can recommend a hair salon. I've been going to Chameleon & Co. (locations in New Haven and North Haven) for the past couple of years and I really love it. I've seen a number of different stylists and they have all been great.

I was going to suggest Tricia at MAC in Westfarms.  I'm good friends with her sister, and just love her.  She came to my house and did a lesson for me for my wedding...I wanted something more than I normally wear, but DH was adamant about me NOT getting it done day of and not looking like myself (I had a bad experience as a bridesmaid once and he hasn't forgotten about it).  I've stopped in there a few times to update my look and have always liked what she did.  I"m a low maintenence, low key makeup girl and she's shown me ways to do that, and to dress up the look when needed.  She has bright pink hair, but don't let that scare you!!

I have gone to the Lancome counter at the Nordstrom in the Westchester Mall.  I liked what they did.

I suggest SOHO Hair in New Haven.  I have been to a few of them and they are all good but have been happy with Tiffany and Heather D.

Same here - MAC in Westfarms. I'm in the New Haven area too and I honestly think that it's worth the drive to make a trip toWestfarms - way better shopping than milford/meriden or trumbull.

Hairdresser - Christophers in Guilford. Love 'em.

there are several excellent makeup artists at Sephora at the Westchester.. don't think you could go wrong there... it's worth the trip.
