suspense is slowly killing me...

As some of you know, we submitted an offer on a house on Wednesday. We still don't have an acceptance or a counter offer. At least we know that one of the sellers (the wife) is away for work, so that is their explanation for the delay. But seriously - are you telling me that in the two evenings gone by she hasn't had a chance to call her DH to discuss something as important as selling their house? I am dying a slow death over here.

Please tell me to GET OFF the Pottery Barn website and STOP decorating a house we don't even own yet. It only brings me more pain.

Re: suspense is slowly killing me...

  • The waiting is definitely a killer!! Good luck!

Don't worry, we were decorating our house before we knew it was "ours," too. ;-)
  • That's a long wait!  I hope you find out soon!
  • "The waaaaiting is the hardest part"

I can only imagine the pain you are going through right now - it sucks!  Did they give an indication of when they might get back to you?
  • Thanks, Jan. I see that you're closing on your new home in just two weeks! That was fast!! Have they done the appraisal yet? I think I saw you on the homebuying board asking about that... hope that all went well for you!
  • When we put an offer in, we put a 24 hr window on it so they had to get back to us.  I'm sure you're in agony!  Can your relator call and say that you're interested in another house as well and you need to know?
  • No, they haven't given any indication of when they'll get back to us - only warned that it would be slow due to the wife being out of town.

We didn't put a deadline on our offer (neither Realtor we have worked with has wanted to do that), so technically they can take as long as they want. But I really hope they will come back within 48 hours... longer than that is kind of rude I think.

  • Good luck! I know how hard it is waiting for an offer to be decided upon. I did the same thing...I bought house things from Crate and Barrel before DH and I had our house. I hope you hear something today!
  • I was thinking about you this morning on the train.  I hope you guys get it.  My fingers are crossed for you!

....and you never need a reason to shop at PB!  LOL

  • Assume the worst and hope for the best?

I know how hard that waiting is....GET OFF PB NOW!

    LOL

  • I feel your pain... We made an offer as well on Wednesday, they declined it due to our "hubbard clause" We then took away our hubbard clause and made a new offer yesterday at 12. I heard from a bird though, that they are taking the best and highest offer today. So I will cross my fingers for you, if you cross your fingers for me? LOL. GOOD LUCK! :)
  • Pickiest Bride - I am crossing fingers and toes that we will BOTH hear back today! Keep me posted.
  • I am crossing mine as well! Let me know if you hear. I have the BIGGEST pit in my stomach. YIKESSS
