Baltimore??! Rec's please!
Hi all,
I'm heading to Baltimore this weekend for a wedding and will have a good amount of time to play. Any suggestions for sightseeing or restaurants?? We already have tickets for the National Aquarium.
Any reccomendations appreciated!
TIA!
Re: Baltimore??! Rec's please!
i used to live near baltimore, it's been awhile, but here's what i remember...
wandering around Inner Harbor is fun in and of itself. lots of shopping, and then there's a Legal Sea Foods, Cheesecake Factory, etc. you can take paddle boats out on the harbor too. there's a really neat railroad museum, and there's a couple of art museums and stuff.
in Fells Point, which is walking distance from IH, there's a really great brewpub called DuClaw's. the Greene Turtle is a bar nearby that is popular with Marylanders.
Mother's, which is on Charles Street in Federal Hill, has the most ridiculously awesome crabcakes.
there's this diner called Paper Moon which is off the beaten path in a funky, artistic part of town (Charles Village/Homewood - which is where Johns Hopkins is) that has fabulous food. there are actually a lot of good restaurants near JHU, but you'd have to drive there from inner harbor.
I believe they do ghost tours in Fells Point too, if you're into haunted things.
The aquarium is awesome!
We went to a wedding in Annapolis a few years ago & spent a day in DC (cuz I'd never been & DH wanted to show me around the town he spent a semester in) and went to the National Aquarium in Baltimore & had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe on our last day. (Hard Rock is walking distance from the aqaurium)
