Couple ?'s for an almost 7 month old

He usually is a great sleeper and he still is, but he's been fussing at night around 12:30ish and I just need to go in his room and either rub his back or pick him up and hold him for a few seconds and then he's fine.  Is this a normal thing?  Also he seems to be getting tired earlier now than he used to more around 7ish  where he would probably goto bed.  He normally goes at 7:30 now.  Is this normal for him to want to goto bed earlier?  Is it because his naps aren't as long during the day?

  • Cassidy started getting tired earlier around that age, too. She used to go to bed at 8pm and then started going to bed at 7pm. Not exactly sure why. Though, now that the time has changed for Daylight Saving, she's back to 8pm.

You might want to try not going into his bedroom in the middle of the night and just let him fuss until he goes back to sleep. You don't want to enforce a habit of him needing you to go in there to get him back to sleep. That's just my opinion. You can take it or leave it. ;-)
  • I think it's normal for them to readjust their sleeping schedules. And less napping during the day usually means an earlier bedtime (you might try counting the number of hours he sleeps over a period of days and you'll see that somehow he gets them all in - it's a good predictor of what time they'll go to bed if they nap less).
