Back from 34w appt

I guess I still have a BGB.  The dr just shook his head and chuckled with wide eyes and said "Yup, still big" when he measured my belly!
F/u growth u/s on the 23rd.
Yikes
LOL

Re: Back from 34w appt

  • ya know...when Finny went in for her f/u growth u/s she got admitted...and next thing ya know...AJ arrived. Oh and the BGB she was told she had, a whopping 8 lbs 8 oz. so let that be a reality check to ya.  ;-)
  • I'm not quite sure what to say about this. How about "Here's wishing the head is no bigger than it needs to be."
  • Gotta love these doctors...sometimes they just make you feel so wonderful...BGB cont to get bigger huh??  Your last belly pic still looked cute and not ginormous...

I know they are going to tell me I'm huge at my appt next wk.  My sizing US is then as well.  Should be fun...I'm waddling everywhere these days, but then again it didn't help that I fell at Target on Saturday...Yup big fat pregnant lady down in a stream of soda, and the jacka#$ employee ripping papertowels one by one to wipe it up, didn't even pick his head up to see if I was okay.
  • Um, thanks?  Actually, when I had to lie down for the dr to get the h/b and measure I grunted a little and he laughed and said "Are you even going to make it through 2 more weeks?"  And the last 5 babies he's delivered have all been over 9 lbs, one was 10.4.

    LOL

Actually, that wouldn't be so bad.  My fruitcake SIL is scheduled for a c/s on 4/28...if I go in before that, DH and I will have the first grandchild!

I really just need to make it through one more week, then I don't care.  My shower is Sunday and maternity pics next Wednesday!

  • LOL Duff.

And Blue, I gotta add, I don't know how you went as long as you did!

Rama - I hope you're ok!!  I don't think I would have been able to get up!

  • Oh, and they overestimated Jillie by over a pound and a half. Which in Biggest Loser terms, is a large percentage.

And you've said you haven't gained much. Dude, you'll be walking out of that hospital in a bikini.

  • Well, I have managed to pack on 4 lbs in the last 2 weeks so I'm up to 24 lbs.  I'm hoping it was partly because my appt was right after lunch.  But I think it has more to do with the insane amounts of juice I've been consuming.
  • im not up on all the baby terms...what does BGB mean??
  • Hi Jess!
I'm hoping you get some progress soon!!  What is your actual due date?  I saw your response in my shepard's pie post--it sounds yummy and easy, and I think I'm going to make it tomorrow.  One question though, do you always make it with creamed corn?  I've never really like creamed corn, but if it's necessary for the recipe I'm going to use it.  Any input?  Thanks--and hope you're feeling good these days!
  • BGB = Big Giant Baby.  I made it up to describe the Gigantosaur I'm supposedly carrying!!!
  • ah! ok...i figured it was something like that.  I hope its not TOO big! 10.4 lbs is huge, that poor mom lol
  • I will just add that they are not always right with the BGB predictions.  I had GD so was on a crazy diet so that I wouldn't have a BGB, and at 36w they told me she was already 6 lb 11 oz....she was born at 39w 6 lb 14 oz.  So something tells me they were a little off because she should have gained 1.5-2 lbs in those 3 weeks!

So hopefully the baby is just right :)

  • I hope they're off.  He/she was measuring at 6ls 2oz at 32w5d!!
  • Jess, luckily my husband was there to pick my big butt up...then the curses started to fly out of my mouth...at the employees anyway for not even noticing, and not cleaning it...

BGB will be easier to take care of IMO than a small baby...may not be so much fun to push out though...my 8lb 12 oz wouldn't come out naturally, the vac wouldn't stick b/c of the insane amounts of hair my child has..and well I remember being thankful I had the c-section in the end.....
  • Yeah, we're going to talk scheduled c/s at my next appt if the growth u/s is still showing him/her to be really big!
  • c-section here you come.  lol.

In all honestly, I have never heard of them being correct.  They told me I was having a 9+ lb baby.  She was 7lbs 9oz.
  • I can understand not wanting too big of a BGB, but I see a BGB as great news! You have a healthy and happy child having a great time in there!!: )  I secretly hope you have your baby before your SIL. :)
  • I'm measuring the opposite.. I have a small peanut in there! See my post about my 39 weeks appt
