I hit a parked car this morning.....

...because that's the way I roll.  No, no, Aspen doesn't get into a car accident while driving, but rather hits a PARKED car in her complex.  Oh yea, and the parking lot was pretty empty.  The car I hit....a brand new Infinity.

What a great start to the day.

Re: I hit a parked car this morning.....

  • Oh no!!!  Was there any damage?

I once hit a parked car at Price Chopper.  I was pulling into the spot and pulled in a little too far.  The worst part about it was the owner of the car was inside of it.  He got out and took a look at his car.  Luckily I only bumped our licence plates, so there was no damage.  OOPS!
  • I don't freely admit this, but to make you feel better, I'm happy to share that I have done that before, in the grocery store parking lot.
  • Oh no, so sorry to hear, but the way your post was written was very funny.  If that brings you any consolation...:)

  • So, I scraped the front of this beautiful new Infinity pretty bad.  But the worst was on my honda crv.  My whole front bumper is hanging on by a thread.  DH had to drive me to work in our POS car.  Since the police couldn't contact the owner of the Infinity, they had to leave him a message, delaying the police report for 3 days.  So, in the meantime, DH is holding our bumper via MASKING TAPE.
  • Oh no...that stinks.

You're not the first to do this though.  So don't feel bad.

  • eeep, not a good start to the day!!!!

  • Oh no, that sucks!!  I hope your day gets better!
  • Are you pregnant?? :)  This sounds like something I would do!  A few months ago, I hit a car at a red light.  The car had stopped in front of me, and I had come to almost a complete stop and then reached over to get something.  I hit the car- though not hard, but put a perfect hole in his bumper thanks to the bolts that hold my license plate on.  It was a brand new Jeep- luckily the driver was very nice, and kept apologizing to me! :)
  • that blows! I am very impressed though that you did the right thing! I know from experience that most people don't unless they are caught in action.

Can't say I have hit a parked car but I can say that my focus has been hit 4 times while parked...lol it used to make me mad - but now that DH ran it in to a gaurd rail well I have given up.
  • If you need to feel better about yourself, I'll post about all the dumb-a$$ accidents I've had -- including running right into the back of a huge Northeast utility truck. Ya know...the BIG bright yellow ones?
  • You don't live in Southport do you?
  • Um, I think I got ya beat. I took out DH's Jeep the other day. I don't drive it too often, but I needed it that day. I guess I misjudged when I was backing it out. There's now a nice big scrape on the side of my Honda. Brilliant. You hit a parked car, but I hit my own parked car LOL! That'll be getting compounded out some time this week. Thankfully, there was no damage beyond the scrape. I am an idiot with zero depth perception!
