Settle an argument please
When you grill steaks, what temp (approx) do you leave the grill at?
Re: Settle an argument please
we are grilling filets tonight.
what I do - pre-heat the grill for a solid 20 minuets if youhave a high btu out put. Longer if your grill isn't so "serious"
once the grill is piping hot, throw the steaks on and turn down the heat. you essentailly want to seal the exteriors and create a crust. DO NO TOUCH the steaks for 4-5 minues. period - don't move emm, push on emm, just leave em alone!
then flip - keep heat and medium to medium high depending on teh grill. and for rare no more 3-4 minutes for the other side.
OH and oil the rack.
taa taa
Well in the oven I do mine at 425....so I think you are in the right. the high heat is not a problem with a seared crust because you wont have any flare ups (no fat to drip)
Jess seriously we are forever eating the same things!!!!
I knew I was right, just needed some Nestie back up!!
What's for dinner tomorrow Christy? LOL
