Anyone been to Apricots?

I am the MOH for my cousin's wedding in Nov.  She had a lunch for all the girls in the wedding on Saturday and gave each of us a packet of information about the wedding and what she wants.  She also gave me a list of her recommendations for shower locations.  Apricot's being one of them.  Seems a little pricey, but I'm interested in feedback.  TIA

Re: Anyone been to Apricots?

  • Went there once for a wedding... (not the best place to have that) but it was nice... food was ok..... nothing to write home about... What are the other locations?

  • I don't remember all her other choices.  Adam's Mill, the Nutmeg, and Mill on the River were other choices.  Her rehearsal dinner is at MOTR.
  • Hi Cora!
I like that place! It has a nice location, and I thought the food was good when I've been there.  Granted, I've only done a happy hour type thing there, but I liked it.  It's not one of my favorite places, but good!
  • The Nutmeg and Adams Mill are both really good.
  • I second Adams mill..... also Mill on the river is great!
  • I have a friend who loves Apricot's, though I've never been myself.
  • Apricot's is nice, overlooking the Farmington River.  And they have a nice outside patio to book.  We went there for a dinner through work and the food was good but I thought it was too expensive.
  • It's very expensive and the last two experiences I've had there were bad.  That was my family's "nice" place to go to celebrate birthdays, etc, but it has really gone down hill.  We went around Xmas time and it took almost an hour and a half for our entrees to come out....mine was black on top, my dad's was cold and my FI's didn't even come out with the rest of the meals.  It was horrible.

She gave you a list of places to throw her a shower at....?
  • Bit strange that she gave a list of recommendations for her own shower - or is that just me?

Anyways, I had mine at Bellini's in Evergreen Walk and they were great, as was the food.  Big portions and yummy desserts.  The peach sangria was awesome, and I don't think it was that pricey, but I'm not sure.
  • I found it to be a little pricey....however they have amazing crab cakes!
  • We had our rehearsal dinner there. It was nice IL's were happy with it. The service was a bit slow, we had them bring out my diabetic grandmother her food before everyone else. I thought it was ok, I might encourage you to look elsewhere though.
