Cruise for Parents?

Happy Monday Ladies!  I hope this day is going good for everyone!
So, DH and I are planning on surprising our moms for Mothers Day with a cruise for next year. DH and I have already been on Royal Caribbean (freedom of the seas).  Since are moms probably aren't going to be into all the activities that the freedom of the seas offers, can anyone recommend a good line or ship we should look into?  We are probably looking to cruise to Caribean for a 7 day Cruise.
We looked into Celebrity.  Anyone have any recs of this ship?
Thanks so much!
Megan

Re: Cruise for Parents?

  • My parents did Celebrity in HI, so it was an older ship, but they preferred RC.  They've done a few RC and LOVED them.
  • My ILs always use Princess
  • What a great gift idea!!  I'm not sure what your price range is, but Celebrity is usually more expensive than other lines.  They do usually cater to an older crowd though, so your moms might like that.

Most cruise lines do have a lot of activities on board, but keep in mind they can pick and choose the things they would be into.  Even if they go on an RC cruise with lots of activities they don't like, I'm sure there will be other things that they would enjoy (maybe the spa, yoga classes, whatever they're into).

We are cruising with my family on the Norwegian Dawn this summer, because we like the "freestyle" atmosphere that they offer.  That might be a good option for them as well!

  • Thanks ladies for the advice!  I loved RC, but my MIL thought there were to many kids on the ship we went on, but I didnt think it was to bad.  So we will look into these ideas.  I know my mom would really enjoy anything and any kind of ship, as she hasnt been on a vacation really since I was born.
  • The amount of kids on the ship is also going to depend on the destination and the time of year.  Granted, Celebrity will probably have less no matter what.
  • what a nice daughter. I have the number of a great travel agent that has beaten any price ever if you would like it, let me know!
