Quick ?: Do I tip this guy...

I purchased one of those furniture plans when we bought our bedroom set.  They fix any dent, scratch, spill, etc.

DH broke the bed frame.  Not by doing anything crazy much to my chagrin :) ....just re-positioning himself while reading the paper.

Dude is here repairing the frame.  Do I tip him.    And if so, how much?

Re: Quick ?: Do I tip this guy...

  • I wouldn't .  You paid for the plan, why tip extra $?
  • I dunno about tipping, I rpoabbly wouldnt

But suuuuuuure.... he broke the bed from reading the paper... uh huh... ;)

  • I wouldn't. Unless he does something extra special - and really, what could that be?
  • Sandy, be/c I'm a sucka....I'm tip happy.  :)   I feel like when anyone does a service for me, I should tip them.  He is fixing a dog bite, that isn't in the contract.  For that alone, I think I should at least give him something.

Meggilicuty, I swear.  I couldn't make that stuff up.

  • hmmm for the non-contract dog bite I would tip I think

  • Oh yeah- dog bite, then yes I'd tip.  You have to be  more specific when you post these things...lol ;)

  • I was trying to hurry before he finished the job.  My bad!  :)

He is working longer on the dog bite than the actual frame fix!!

  • I'm curious how DH broke the bed just shifting while reading the paper.  I'm not buying that one.

come on...how'd you guys REALLY break the bed? ;)

  • I swear, i was sitting on my side, reading my U.S. Grant biography and he was reading his paper, like a couple of 80 year olds.  He went to sit up more and there was a loud cracking noise followed by him dropping a few inches.

Mattress (on his side) was at an awkward angle.  He said "I don't think I can sleep on it like this."   We propped it up with phone books until we got the guy to come out.

He is telling his buddies another story.  :)
