Fell down the stairs...

I was on my way downstairs to do laundry when my dog cut me off and I went down the last few stairs on my butt.  I called my OBGYN and they want me to come in at 2PM.  I do not have any pain in my belly or bleeding.  Should I be scared?

Re: Fell down the stairs...

  • How scary. It's really good that you are going to be checked out so soon.

  • don't be scared...the OB wants to see you as a precaution.  Always better to be safe then sorry.

Your little one is well cushioned in there w/ the amniotic fluid and your uterus surrounding them.  So chance are no harm was done.

Try not to worry.  Your doc is doing the right thing and I'm sure all is fine!

    So sorry you fell though!

  • I fell when i was 22 weeks pregnant outside on concrete. they had me just get checked to be safe.

  • I fell down an entire flight of stairs on my butt when I was about 34 weeks. I had no pain or bleeding and didn't land on my belly, so my ob didn't even check me out! They said we were fine as long as I didn't land on my belly...and we were:)
  • ok, I feel a little better now - thanks!!  I was so scared when I fell I started crying, then called DH at work.  I will NOT be doing laundry today.
  • yikes. i'm sure they just want to ease your mind.
  • aww Kristi!!

I'm sure baby Hannah is doing just fine inside that big ol' sack of fluid.

I'm thinking positive thoughts for you. Keep us posted.

    (((hugs)))

  • I'm sure it's fine, just a precaution.  I fell down some stairs as well and the baby (Lauren) was fine!
  • I fell down a flight of concrete stairs at work when I was 32 weeks pg and went to the hospital (in an ambulance - they insisted) to be checked out and they kept me overnight. During the night I went into preterm labor. Luckly they were able to stop it but I was in the hospital for a few days after and then on bedrest for the duration. You should be fine though but it's better to be safe than sorry.
