recommand a seamstress

I am looking for a seamstress in central Ct area, any recommendations?

Re: recommand a seamstress

  • Not a seamstress but a tailor - older Italian gentleman in E. Hartford who works wonders and is very reasonably priced. Fusco Tailor - 800 Silver Ln #204, tel 568-9065. I wish we still lived close enough for me to use him. Sadly we're a bit too far and I must find someone new
  • Connie's in Berlin is very good as well.  Right around the corner from the Berlin movie theaters.
  • There's a woman Maria in Mancheser who's awesome.  Jan might have her info, or past over on theknot, one of those girls has it, I'm sure!!
  • I 2nd Fusco in E. Hartford.  He put a new zipper on the top and dropped the hem on the dress in my siggy in less than a day.
  • Paula Pierson in Cheshire is fantastic. She does all types of alterations and works out of her house. Her work is top notch and her prices are very fair. She pretty much remade my mother's wedding gown to fit me and did an incredible job. Her number is 203-272-3092.

  • I cannot recommend one but I can tell you to stay away from Natalyia Alerations in Enfield...She was supposed to hem my wedding gown I dropped it off with her 2 months before the wedding, we did the fitting, she pinned it and gave me the day to pick it up (5 days before the wedding) went to get it, she was closed ,called...she said oh sorry come tommarrow...next day I got there (this is now wednesday before thanksgiving and my wedding was on saturday) she HAD NOT TOUCHED IT, it still had pins, no sewing, no taking in, no hemming. I almost punched her in the face...I had to get a super seamstress through stylez for the isles in East windsor and pay her about 1/2 the cost of the dress to have it ready for the wedding I picked it up the morning of my wedding...talk about stresssssssssss!!!
