The one year old daughter of a well-loved music teacher here at our brother school (we share campuses) tragically died this weekend by accidental strangulation on the cord of window blinds. I just got news of this this morning. The little girl and Ava just played together not even a month ago - Lila was a sweetheart.
This guy is an incredibly wonderful teacher and a sweet, sweet guy. He's been telling me to "try for number 2 already!" because when he and his wife had their second I kept asking "How is it? Is it crazy with 2 in the house? A lot different than 1, right?" And he's been telling me, "It's wonderful! Just do it!". Can't imagine what this family is going through - Just keep them in your thoughts today - I am so, so sad. And the worst part is, this was completely avoidable.

OMG, that is so so sad. My thoughts go out to the family.
That is just heartbreaking. The family is in my prayers.

I am so sorry. I just read about this in the paper & my heart breaks for the family.
My MIL keeps tell me that I need to get window blinds for our windows & this is exactly why I do not want them.

My heart aches for this family. I went around and double checked all my blind cords after hearing about this.
Losing one of my little girls is my absolute worst nightmare and something I pray won't ever ever happen.
