Has anyone consigned a wedding dress?
My SIL wants to sell her $5000 Romana Kaveza (sp?) gown, and from looking at ebay, it doesn't look like they are really selling for much on there. Has anyone consigned a dress? I know there is a place in Glastonbury, just don't know if it's worth the hike for her (FField County) and they offer her like $500.
Re: Has anyone consigned a wedding dress?
No but for such a great designer she should be able to sell it on http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/ or http://www.weddingdressmarket.com/search.php?c=2 or http://encorebridal.com/store/selladress.php all of these are the tops links when googling preowned wedding gowns.
I tried- but the problem is, my dress was only $350. I beleive when I called the glastonbury store they told me they give 50% of the original cost of the dress or they sell it for that or something...and for me to pay to have it cleaned, I'd end up spending as much as I'd be making. So it wasn't worth it for me. The dress is just sitting in a hope chest rotting now.
But- for a $5000 dress, it's a different story. Call the store in Glastonbury and tell them about the dress, they'll give you an idea of what they'd sell it for and what SIL would make so you'll know before you go if it's worth her while.
