I got mine last month...I took 4 IB Profin before I went, and it still hurt SO bad...but then again I've never given birth. I was so nervous, but so far, everything is going great! Just try to relax...Good luck!

Yikes, good to know!  I'm taking the day off, as it's Elizabeth's first day in day care, then I'm getting the IUD, then SHE has a doctor's appointment in the afternoon.  Hopefully I can go home and just chill out between my procedure and picking her up.  I will definitely pop some Advil before I go. Thanks!

I got the paragard and it wasn't bad at all...I didn't even know she'd done it until she said "and now you have an IUD!" it's just the speculum that's a bit uncomfy.

I had one for a year.   Take a couple of motrin or tylenol before hand 'cause you'll probably have a tiny bit of cramping during insertion.  You'll probably bleed (spotting)  for a few weeks, too (I bled for 4 or 4). 

Good Luck.  Once it was in, I didn't notice it was there (I had it removed for other reasons...).

Yeah, pop a few Motrin. I had some cramping. It wasn't too bad, but I had mine inserted about 8 weeks after birth. I think it's not as bad for new moms.
