Anyone live in Pasadena?

My sisters fiance matched into the residency program at huntington hospital--so they are moving to the area.  Any info on Pasadena, where to live near there etc would be helpful!  Thanks

Re: Anyone live in Pasadena?

  • Yes, I live in Pasadena and I love it. There are some shady areas of Pasadena NW of the 210 FWY that they should stay clear of. I actually live in N. Pas myself and truly love it. If they are looking for townhouse or a house to rent NE might be an area to look.  All the areas around the hospital are super nice but before we moved North we lived in the Playhouse district and to me that was the best. We were walking distance to everywhere, restaraunts, shopping, theaters you name it!
  • BrideforKen did a nice summary of good and bad spots.  As long as they stay out of the NW area they will be fine.  Pasadena is a GREAT place to live with lots to do.  I personally wouldn't want to live directly around the community college, as I don't think it's all that great and is quite crowded with students parking, etc.

    Congrats to your future BIL.

  • I grew up in Pasadena and still live 10 minutes away. Its a big city and I think there are patches of undesirable housing all around. I'd work with a realtor so they can steer you away from those areas. I really like the South Pasadena area.
