Poll: Crazy sleep stories

So does anyone Have any crazy stories about doing things in your sleep?   I just read an article about ambien's side effects and it made me think of the crazy things we do in our sleep sometimes.

Oh yeah and my story to get us all started. Sorry it's so long.

I was a pretty notorious sleep walker when I was younger. Perhaps the funniest story was I got up still asleep thinking I had overslept for school, missed the bus and needed to get ready ASAP. I ran into my mothers room and shouted at her ?WE OVERSLEPT I MISSED THE BUS YOU HAVE TO GET UP AND TAKE ME? then pounded on my brother?s door and shouted ?THE ELECTIRC MUST HAVE GONE OFF I WOKE UP LATE YOU?RE LATE TOO? and then went and got in the shower.

Sometime while I was in the shower my mother or brother not sure who woke up enough to look at the clock and realize it was 1:30 ish. By then I was out of the shower so she came in and told me I wasn?t late. I proceded to argue with her and everytime she asked me to look at the clock and tell her what time it was I told her 7:35 several times apparently. She informed it it was in fact 1:35 and to go back to sleep. to which I apparently replied ?oh?, and climbed back in bed

I remembered none of this the following morning despite waking up already showered 1/2 ready to go to school. However I did remember a dream about being late for school.

My mother and my brother don?t let me live it down to this day.

I think I?ll avoid ambien for fear of things like this happening regularly.

  • I took a sleep aid one day last week.  Darren said he rolled over and was just looking at the ceiling, and I looked at hime and said "what are you DOING?".  He said "nothing, sweetie, I just can't sleep".

My response:  "Well, if you don't start being nice to me, I'm gonna leave you."  And with that, I rolled over and went back to sleep.

I couldn't figure out why he was acting all hurt in the morning.  He told me and I laughed.  He thought I was awake, but I remembered nothing!  So now it's a big joke.

  • I just kick a lot, growing up no body wanted to sleep in the same bed as me in fear of waking up with bruises. My DH sometimes complains about it.

My DH talks, make that yells, in his sleep sometimes. More like loud mumbling.

My brother has actually sleep walked and made breakfast! It was like 3 AM and my mom had to wake him up while he was eating! It was really weird.
  • My little sister sleep walks. The funniest thing is the time we all woke up to the guinea pig being in the bathroom sink  instead of in its cage. We can't be certain what happened, but we assumed my sister sleep walked and put it there.
  • The first week of freshmen year at University of Kentucky my best friend Jessica (who lived across the hall from me in Blanding Tower) was sleep walking, found her roomates bottom drawer of her desk, which apparently she thought was the toilet, and peed in the drawer all over her stuff. She then proceeded to shut the drawer and go back to bed. Luckily her roommate Ashley knew her from grade school and wasn't too mad! haha! Still cracks me up to this day :)
  • My little brother sleep walks. You'd feel like someone was watching you while you're asleep  & when you'd open your eyes there he'd be.

Andy always wakes up randomly and just stares at you all glassy eyed and doen't say anything. It creeps me out. Several years ago, he did this and then leaped out of the bed and crouched at the foot of the bed. That scared the holy bejesus out of me.

When my sister and I were little and we'd stay at my Grandma's she said she always her talking in the middle of the night. So she'd come in to tell us to stop, but we were dead asleep and carrying on a complete conversation with each other in our sleep.

  • My husband was a sleep eater as a child. On different nights, he ate:

    -a pound of fudge
-An entire package of individually wrapped cheese slices
-the top off a cherry pie
    -his dad's lunch

They used to lock the fridge door.
  • i grind my teeth when im stressed

apparently loud enough that it wakes up Aaron

i don't notice it until i wake up in the morning and i have a super hardcore headache from the jaw ache from grinding...

  • Simi - My Husband does that too...I have to shake him to get him to stop!
  • I do that, too, Simi! I used to wake up the ex-H.... (and Wendy too when we shared a dorm room!! HAHA)The ex said it sounded like a mouse eating something - really loudly! LOL!

    Cruise Countdown Tickers
  • LoL, these stories are a lot of fun.
  • I used to wake up early for a job in MD, and Roo had almost opposite hours. I went to bed one night around 11, he came in around 1 and kissed me goodnight. He said I rolled over and scolded him for not downloading 'Time after Time" by Cyndi Lauper from Napster. He made a CD with that song on it while I was sleeping and told me about it in the morning. I gave him a stupid look like WTF would you do that? He told me that I'd yelled at him and we figured out I'd been talking in my sleep. HA! I've also made it down the steps and sat in the recliner in my sleep, fallen off the bed, and when I was little I stood up on the couch and told Mom that I couldn't sleep. Then I laid down and I was out! I have no memories of any of this, just what people have told me!
  • DH and I have both initated 'things' while sleeping.  We get confused when we wake up and just go with the flow usually.
I had a phone conversation with DH when we were dating, while I was asleep.  I answered the phone and everything.

I also grind my teeth, but I have a guard now from the dentist ($300).  Its so quiet I now wake up with DH grinds his teeth.

  • This might be TMI, but DH often starts 'doing it' with me while he is asleep.
  • I grind my teeth, so I wear a night guard.

Since I've been pregnant, my sleeping patterns have changed.  DH says that when I'm facing away from him, I snore.  But when I'm facing him, I mumble in my sleep.  At first he thought it was moaning, but then he realized I'm mumbling.  Never did either of these before now.
