Who has TWC and average cost per month?

In the new house we are locked into Time Warner Cable :( which im not a fan of... i've had wow for 4 years and found them to be super well priced

I am finding the prices at TWC to be SUPER pricey for the same stuff i Had with wow
we had medium speed internet
HD DVR box with HD basic channels

for 94 dollars a month including tax

anyone mind sharing their package + price with TWC for comparisions sake....

Re: Who has TWC and average cost per month?

  • We have cable with all channels plus Show Time, wireless internet, DVR/HD box and it is outrageous! About $140/month and we don't even have a land line! We are considering switching since I know that we can get more for our money elsewhere...that sucks that you're locked into time warner :(
  • Oh and that's just with one box...we have basic cable in the basement and that is it.
  • You can easily negotiate prices.  We have roadrunner, cable (no movie channels) and DVR.  We were paying $117/month and found out others in our apt. complex were paying significantly less.  My husband called their customer service up and told them he felt like a sucker since we were paying more than others that had the same services.  The lady was super nice and searched for a promotion to put us in and we are now only paying $75/month for the next 12 months.  She said that when our promotion ends to call back and they can find another to put us in.  WOW wasn't an option since only TW services our apt. complex.  We thought we'd never get a lower rate, but all we had to do was ask!
  • We have highspeed internet, landline, 1hd box with dvr, 1 digital box, in a bundle for what I think is about $110/month. I hate TWC. but we have so many tvs (6), the only other option of satellite is much more.
  • we have road runner, an HD DVR box in one room, HBO, digital package (gives us through channel 150 or something--I "need" it for the style network) and regular cable.   We pay about $120/month.  Crazy!  We tried to go to a slower internet and no HBO but it only saved us $4/month b/c of the package we have.  The CSR told us what a "great" deal we were getting.  That's a bunch of poo.  Cable is not new technology and should not be so expensive.  But, I digress.
  • Wow. We're totally getting screwed!
  • We actually just switched from WOW to AT&T and LOVE AT&T.

    ? High speed internet
? HD DVR Box (DVR up to 5 shows at one time)
    ? + 2 more HD Boxes
? Extended HD channels including movie channels Showtime, Encore and Stars
? They have something called the AT&T U-bar or something, where you can look at local weather, your stocks and look up anything you want in the yellow pages at anytime on your TV...pretty cool feature.

120 dollars/mo. (Same price we paid with WOW for a lesser package).

I know it's a little more, they have other lower cost packages. I would call AT&T to see if they offer their service in your neighborhood. They are VERY new to our neighborhood and only about a month ago was offered. If you can't get it, then they usually will send someone out to assess the area to add it.
  • Oh yeah, we have wireless internet too.

And the Yellow pages look-up also gives you directions. So, you can just look up chinese restuarant and it will tell you where they all are in your area with directions and phone numbers.
  • I pay $76/mo for digital cable with a DVR.  But I just went with AT&T yesterday and got the Big Ten networ, my DH is so excited.  Jody, I am so glad you like it.  We hadn't really shopped around but a sales guy came to the door yesterday and it seemed like a good deal so we went with it.  Sounds like we made the right choice.
  • I'm jelly of having AT&T as an option. :(
  • I think we pay around $100/month and we have 1 HD box + DVR, 2 digitabl boxes, highspeed internet and a phone line.  Plus we get HBO but that was free (or part of a package or something).  We've had lots of problems with the boxes but having a hook up with 4 tvs would be too expensive for satelitte.

We used to love direct tv though and I still highly recommend it if you only need 2 tvs.
  • Simi, I'm paying about $98 including taxes for 1 DVR box w/digital cable + road runner. I have stations up to 150 I guess, too! Maybe I need to call them and talk them down!! LOL!
    Cruise Countdown Tickers
  • we are totally getting screwed! bummer.  i need to call TWC to get a better deal.
  • We have the same package as you had with WOW (except higher speed internet, I think) and also pay just under $100 (which drives me insane to pay so much!) As the other ladies have suggested, call and negotiate. You'd be shocked at how many of your monthly bills can be negotiated - your cell phones, cable/internet, satellite radio, etc. I have heard that TW's DVR is much nicer than WOW, that would be worth a few extra bucks in my opinion, but not $20-30! Good luck!
  • We have TWC up to 70 channels, $46 a month.  We have DSL through our phone, and the total phone bill is $60.  Our phone is AT&T
  • We pay $106 for internet, DVR with HD channels and showtime.
