S/O: Flowers (re: Veggies)
I'd like to try to grow some bell peppers this year since I did pretty well with tomatoes last year. Any idea when I can start those? Do I get plants that are already partially grown or are there seeds available??
I'm totally in the dark about gardening, but trying to learn little by little....heck, I learned from the PP that you aren't supposed to plant "live plants" until after Mother's Day....

I like to start some things inside by seed.(I've done tomatoes, broc. and something else, LOL) I just usually directly plant seeds for peas, beans, pumpkin, carrots, cucumbers.) For starters, I just use a egg carton and put soil and moisten with water. (If I can keep them away from Chelsea cat, I'll put them in a sunny window sill, otherwise under a desk lamp for warmth.
A friend of mine always suggests puting a handful of fertilizer at the bottom of the hole and her pants are huge. You just have to make sure you get the non "burning" kind. the people at Oakland nursery are great and really know their stuff and will help you out with tips ideas etc.
