Needlepoint - where to get?

Hi ladies-

My step-mother is visisting from out of town and wants for us to go and pick out a needlepoint to make our baby a Christmas stocking.  I think probably Michael's or Joann's would carry these...anyone know of anywhere else to look or any specialty stores that would carry this type of thing?

Thanks much!

Re: Needlepoint - where to get?

  • I have always bought mine @ JoAnns or MIchaels.  Tthere is a store, but the exact name is escaping me right now.  I think it might be called something like A Stitch in Time.  The name is something about a stitch.  You could also try online.  I am not sure if you want counted cross stitch or just regular (pre-printed pattern) cross stitch, but you can get counted cross stitch patterns online for free or very cheap.  Sorry to be so vague.  I hope that helps.
  • Try Cross My Heart on Kenny Rd (just south of Henderson).  Needlepoint is different from cross-stitch, but I'm pretty sure this place carries it.  JoAnns would have some, too, but not as big of a selection--they do have some, though (I accidentally pick some up sometimes when I am looking for counted cross-stitch).  I think either you should head to a specialty store (like Cross My Heart) or just get a book of patterns from Joann's (they probably won't have too many needlepoint Christmas kits, but should still have the books).
  • There's a place called the Stitching Post on Bethel just west of 315.  They may have some other options for you!
  • Stitching Post!  That's the name I was thinking of....thanks Amber :)
  • Thanks!!  Hopefully we can find something at one of these places.
