Anyone know anything about Big Walnut schools?

As the school year comes to a close and I am a little nervous about finding a new position for next year, I realised that Big Walnut schools are only about 10 minutes from my house.  But I don't really know much about the school district.

Does anyone have any info about Big Walnut?

TIA

Re: Anyone know anything about Big Walnut schools?

  • Big Walnut's a nice school district. One of the music teachers came from there and liked it OK. I think it's still mroe "rural" in attitude. I'd look up their ratings. I know they get as many snow days as us! (Olentangy...a lot! LOL!)
  • I grew up in the area and attended BW k-12!  I have to say I really loved the small town feel of it.  I liked knowing all of my teachers and classmates. I don't know if there are any particular questions you would have for me but feel free to ask. I may be able to help!

  • I also grew up and went to BW for K-12.  Sunbury is a small town but is growing very rapidly.

Let me know if I can help in any way.

  • DH is an Alum of Big Walnut.

He has nothing but good things to say about it. He has multiple younger cousins who all attend their school system as well. It's much more of a rural, small town feel.
  • Man, I must have went to a TINY school, because I thought Big Walnut was pretty big!  I think that in the next few years, BW is going to have more elementary schools and possibly a new middle school open up, just because the area is growing so much.  There are a few new housing developments being planned and I have a feeling that it might become the "New Olentangy" someday. ; )
