Recommend your vacuum......

I need a new vacuum and don't have the cash on hand to spend for a Dyson or similar.
I hate my bagless, but would consider another bagless for a good vacuum in return.
I prefer self-propelled since my back isn't the greatest to be pushing a vacuum around.
I've been looking just a little hoover has a bagged self-propelled, not sure how well it works. And dirt devil has a cyclonic bagless that caught my eye too.
Any recs are appreciated! I'm trying to stay around $200 if possible.

Re: Recommend your vacuum......

  • I have a bad vacuum track reocrd. I've killed one per year in the past 6 years. Then I bought a Kenmore Progressive (friend has it, she loves it too) It's was a bit pricey, but cheaper than a Dyson. It uses bags and Sears has a program where they email/ call you and tell you when to bring it in to have the filters cleaned....for FREE. I've had mine for 11 months and it still runs like the day I brought it home. It does a wonderful job on the 3 cats and 2 dogs worth of fur in my house right now!
  • PS, brands of vacuums I've killed: Dirt Devil, Eureka, Hoover, Bissell, Another Eureka...and one more, can't think of it right now.
  • We have a Eureka Boss SmartVac and LOVE it!  I was set on getting a Dyson, until I read Consumer Reports and found out the Eureka we ended up with is rated higher and costs way less.   We paid under $200 for it.  I highly recommend it.  It's not bagless though - if you want a bagless.
  • Dh bought me the Hoover Windtunnel about 6 months ago and I haven't had any problems with yet.  I know it was under $200.
  • I love my Bissell! But it is bagless. I love to look at all the dirt, dust I vacuum up. It is rewarding! lol
