POLL: Who has their passport?
I just sent my stuff in today to get one!
I am wierdly excited about getting mine, when I was little I had a little paper one that I pretended was real.
I can't WAIT for MEXICO!!
Re: POLL: Who has their passport?
i have had one since being about 4 months old
i like looking back at the old ones to remember all the places i've been.
missingjason: just book your tickets in your maiden name if you don't plan on changing it in the passport
the regular passport + marriage license won't cut it...
If you think it's fun to have one, wait until they put stamps in it. w00t!
I do! I had one in my maiden name for the HM and then had to get a new one last year for our trip to Ireland. It's sitting in the drawer with my birth certificate and Chris' stuff. We'll be using them again next summer (2009) for a trip to Greece!
another *good to know*
it's a lot faster to get a name change / renewal passport back then a brand new one due to background checks and such
when i sent mine in for name change i had it back within a week, we sent my husbands in for a first time passport at the same time and it took abut a month to get back....
On the State Dept website, they say that you should get your passport within 6-8 weeks of submitting your stuff. When I got my first passport before our HM, I received in less than four weeks (didn't expedite; paid for regular time...applied in December 2005). When I sent my stuff in last year for the name change before our Ireland trip, it took exactly 10 weeks but there were major delays in all passport processing times and 10 weeks is what they were saying. I sent it in back in February 2007 I believe.
I have to get mine. I haven't needed it until now. yeah, I know, that's sad.
I do! but, now that I am married, it has the wrong name. i have to get it updated asap for our august trip to jamacia.
sandals jamacia (The OFfice anyone...?)
My DH and I both had to get one for our destination wedding in Jamica. But just like everyone else mine has my maiden name. boo!!
Yeah VACATION!
