So frustrated...Need to Vent!

So we have been going through the whole process of getting ready to build our house. Finally settled on a floor plan, colors, all the bank pre-approval paperwork. The day before we were to close (3 weeks ago today) they ran the title on our land and found a lien. The land was a gift from the hubby's mother and evidently she had a lien at one time and it was never removed. She is in the middle of refinancing and title office said since she is in the middle of this process it would be easier to lift the lien or transfer it when she closes. I still do not know that I totally understand what happened. How long does it take to refinance anyway?? I wouldn't think it would take this long. To top it off my the man I lease my condo from wants to sell it now. He called yesterday wanted to see if some people could stop by and look at it today. He also raised the rent $75 a month. He will give us at least 30 day notice, so we may have to look for an apartment for a few months and move TWICE. Who knows maybe this land situation will never get fixed. just feeling very frustrated right now and I feel like nothing goes right for me. I fI didn't have bad luck I would not have any at all. Not sure what I did to deserve this. Thanks for listening!  :o(

Re: So frustrated...Need to Vent!

  • I can see why you're frustrated..too much all at once. It's a shame that there are so many nit-picky things that have to happen before you can get a house, especially when you have to worry about moving out of your own place, moving costs, etc. They should just cut you some slack, but I know it just doesn't work that way. I hope everything works out for you and you can start on your new house.
  • I kind of know how you feel. At least with the moving twice part. We are actually looking for somewhere to live for just a month. Building sucks there is always something to push the process further and further behind schedule. I just have to remind myself it will all be worth it in the end... Good luck to you I hope the situation gets resolved very quickly.
  • That sounds awful.  Hopefully you'll get all the kinks out, and the rest of the process will be more smooth.
  • Thanks ladies for listening and your thoughts! Hopefully it will all work out. My mil is not pushy and I hope she has made them aware of the situation so they will move a little faster! Ugh!!
