Where do you buy wedding dresses in Columbus?

No, not for me.  I haven't done anyting wrong.  LOL

My best friend is getting amrried, and the last time either of us walked down the aisle we went to a place that was over on Brice Road and is no longer there.

I know there is David's and Wedding Plantation.  Any others we should be aware of?

It's a casual wedding so she's not opposed to NOT wearing an actual wedding dress, but finding a long halter'ish kind of white or ivory dress, could be a bridesmaid dress or a prom dress even.

Re: Where do you buy wedding dresses in Columbus?

  • Wendy's Bridal on Sawmill/161
Theres also another store on N High St/161 that looks kinda neat - its in downtown Worthington
  • I can't remember the name,  I looked at a place at 161 and Sawmill.  They had some neat things there.  But, I went with Davids.
  • Oh, BTW, congratulations to your friend.
  • Since it's prom season, she could also check the department stores--I've seen some white dresses that would work for a wedding.

Girls in White Dresses was down in the Arena District when I was planning, I think, but it was really expensive if I remember right.

  • Actually Macy's has some really nice, wedding-proper, dresses in their fancy dress department.  I know a few people that have gotten theirs from Macy's.
  • I think there is still a Wendy's on Sawmill Rd.  I was also going to suggest looking at the prom dresses since it is that season.

  • I second Macy's. Rachel and I were just there and they had some beautiful white dresses that looked like casual wedding dresses.
  • I found mine at Nordstrom.  My sister got hers at La Jeune Mariee in Worthington.  It is halter ivory dress.

  • I 3rd Macy's or even JCPenny - I think you could find some good deals, especially with prom season right around the corner.

  • Girls in White Dresses on Marconi downtown; La June Marie on High Street in Worthington
  • I got my wedding gown from Alan Ray (off of Sawmill Road - they had a pretty good selection of Bridesmaid dresses there, too). She might also try White House/Black Market - this time of year they often have gorgeous white gowns that would be completely appropriate for a more casual wedding. (I think they actually carry a wedding gown line, too, if you look at their website - at least they used to!)
  • Wendy's Bridal on Sawmill Road.
  • I got my dress at Wendy's. But, what about JCrew?  If you look online or in the catalog, they have some dresses that sound like what she may be looking for.
  • My personal favorites were La Jeune Marie in Worthington and Girls in White Dresses, downtown. I also looked at Saks bridal section...

  • I got my bridesmaids' dresses at J Crew online, and they had some lovely simple wedding dresses as well.

My dress was from Cleo's Bridal & Formal in Olde Town East. Her website is cleosbridalandformal.com. She's also got discontinued sample dresses, which is what mine was, in addition to new stuff. She was very helpful and no-pressure.
