Massage Envy

Has anyone ever been? Thoughts, etc.?

Re: Massage Envy

  • I was wondering about that place too. There is one right next to my house and we always get coupons for $30 massages.
  • Jody - how do you get those coupons? Do you think it's because you live near one?

  • i think online you can get a coupon for $39...i want to at  least try them. :)

I am currently getting massages from the chiro for my jacked up back so I'm waiting until those are done. :)

  • There are always coupons for them in those blue Value Paks you get in the mail, I think I get them because I live next to one.
  • We've been.  I thought it was ok but my DH thought it was great and has been several times since.  I'm kind of a spa snob but it was decent, especially for the price.
  • My husband tried the one at Mill Run - the hair cutting place next door offers a deal. He went during the day and had a great massage (really helpful with a stiff neck/shoulders), and pre-paid for a 30-min massage for me :)  I went in the evening and was not at all impressed. My massage therapist was in her early 20's and was clearly not experienced. I had some serious knots in my shoulders, and she just laughed and commented on how bad they were, but then didn't know how to work them out. Towards the end she just sort of rubbed my back a little without any effort...

I've had several massages at Pennzone's for a little more $$ that I've been very happy with, so that's my comparison. They seem to have an order/routine to how they work your muscles loose, and this girl just sort of winged it and did whatever.

Since we had such different experiences my guess was that the better/more experienced therapists may work during the day (the person he saw is there from 8-5ish), but may not have the same caliber of staff in the evening. Or I just got unlucky.

It's a great deal, and we'd probably go again, but would be very specific about requesting a certain person.

  • Brooke - Jeff and I have both been and we liked it for the $$   - its not really "spa like"  but i thought it was def worth the money.  Campbell told us about it - he has a "membership" there.  I've been thinking about going soon - all this sickness has made me pretty sore!
