tailor for jeans?

I too heard about the designer jeans sale at Filene's a got a pair.  But they are like two feet too long.  Any good recomendations for having them shortened?
I live in Clintonville, but will travel :)

Re: tailor for jeans?

  • Damian's on Bethel Road does a great job.  It's in the plaza right across from K-Mart/Microcenter.
  • When I used to live in Clintonville, I took all of my tailoring to European Style Tailoring.  It's on the corner on Chase Rd and High (a block south of St Michael's Catholic Church).  I never had jeans shortened there, but they always did great job on everything else.

  • I second Damian's on Bethel Rd.  I have used them twice now, and both times they did an excellent job.
  • i think dr. mojo will tailor jeans that you did not buy there.  i usually get my jeans there, but they have done a couple of pairs for me before that i did not get there for about $10/each.
i get everything else tailored at alterations on lane (formerly the veranda).  joyce did my wedding dress and i have kept going back for other things b/c i like her so much.
  • Im really picky about how I tailor my jeans, so I take them to Nordstrom so they can do the tricky hem (meaning they keep the original hem on the jeans so they don't look like they were altered in anyway). I think it's an extra $20 if you bought them somewhere other than Nordstrom.
  • FYI Damian's does the original hem, and they won't charge you tax, if you pay with cash.
  • Thanks everyone! I think I'll try that Damiens.  I used Nordstrom last year and wasn't all that happy.

Hopefully they'll be quick so I can wear them ASAP!

  • In Clintonville, go to Shim's on the corner of High and Oakland Park can tailor them just like the tailor for Dr. Mojoe...ask for a crazy or fancy hem..that is what they call it there. I think it cost me $10-15..

I get all my jeans done at Dr. Mojoe and then if I have to have them redone I got to Shim.
