F/u on my thyroid

It's official, I have hypothyroidism. I had to have some additional blood drawn for tests and I have to have an ultra sound on my thyroid next week, but my Dr. is sure that I have a severely underactive thyroid, likely brought on by child birth. Thankfully, it's easy to treat, once it's regulated properly, but it is something I'll likely have for life. Funny thing is, when I went to Riverside to have my blood drawn, my nurse there also has hypothyroidism. When she asked what my levels were and I told her 177, she about fell over. She said she thought hers were bad at 87 and couldn't believe that I was able to be up and walking around. And boy do I feel it today. I am wiped out! Going to bed never sounded so good. Anyway, hopefully they won't find anything with the ultrasound, other than an extremely large thyroid and that the medicine will start working soon. Thanks for your support and letting me share. :)

  • ((HUGS))

I am so sorry to hear this! Hopefully once you can manage it you will feel better. How did you know you were having problems? (I missed the OP)
  • Good luck!  If you ever want to talk to someone about the medications, let me know.  My sister has been on synthroid her whole life and she's a pharmacist -- so she has lots of good advice.
