Allison said you had questions about granite. What can I help you with?
Re: Sarah5772
***butting in***
I'd love information on granite as well. I want new countertops in the kitchen, and I think I've finally convinced DH that it's worth it....so what's the first step? Do we have to measure it ourselves, or does someone come measure for us? Once they measure, is it a done deal, or can we decide if we're going to go ahead with it once we hear a quote? Once we decide to go ahead with it, do we deal with just one company, or do we buy the granite from one company and then have it installed by someone else?
Sorry if these are stupid questions.....but thanks for helping out!
My answers are based on my company, other companies might do it slightly different. Keep in mind the prices you see at Home Depot or Lowes are for them to contract a company like myself for you, so essentially you are paying a middle man.
1) Take rough measurements yourself of your existing countertops. If you would like us to do the measurements we charge a $75 trip charge, but that money goes against anything you purchase from us. Save yourself the money, take rough measurements for a quote. We template after you've decided to do business with us, for final measurements used in production
2) As I said before, any nestie who wants to do business with us will get the sale pricing we were running in January. We have 4 levels of pricing for granite. $50, 55, 60 & 70 a sq/ft. That price includes a template, install, one of three edge profiles, faucet drilling and a drop-in sink cutout (not undermount).
3) The general process flow is: Come in with dimensions, make color selection, get rough quote, schedule template, revise initial quote based on final dimensions (can flux up or down), come in to sign off on colors/pricing, make 50% deposit, schedule install, put into production, install, remaining balance due on day of install.
Timing depends on several things, but on average we can have tops installed in two weeks from first visit.
4) Either give me a call or drop me an email if you want to stop in. Andrea at moelleringindustries.com
Thanks! We are looking to buy granite for a house we are rehabing and I remember a post from a while back that where you work was having a sale. Of course that could have been months ago! I can't remember.
We aren't particular on the color. My husband has the specifics on measurements I believe and knows more of what he is looking for. Feel free to email me with your contact info and one of us will call you to set up an appointment. Thank you so much!
