Where can I donate old business suits and prom dresses?
I am getting ready to move which means I'm cleaning out all my closets. I have suits that I don't wear anymore and I certainly don't need the bridesmaid dresses and prom dresses that have been hanging in my closet forever. For some reason I'm thinking that there's a great place to do each of these. Isn't there a place you can donate prom dresses so girls who don't have much money can "shop" at that particular thrift store? Also...isn't there a specific organization that helps women get jobs that take these suits? I know they exist because I've heard of them before but can't remember what they are called because I've never donated there before. TIA

Updated September 2012.
Here locally the Junior League is collecting prom dresses to help dress the girls who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford it.
Check with local charities.

Here is the organization I sent all my prom/ formal dresses, plus shoes, bags, and jewelry after I graduated college.
Happy Spring!.
Speak to the Senior class advisor and tell her what the intention of the gowns are for --- let the young ladies in the senior class who are at a financial disadvantage have them. for their prom:)
