I have a friend who has 2 1.5 old italian mastives (sp?) and she unfortunately is unable to keep them. They are a little wild and still have a lot of puppy in them and are looking for a non kill shelter that would take them and give them to a good home with lots of land.
Also if there is anyone who may be interested in possibly adopting the dogs we could work something out. They are good dogs just need some extra love and attention that she is unable to give them at this time.
thanks ladies
Re: no kill animal shelters
Franklin County Animal Shelter, unfortunately, will put dogs down if they are too aggressive or bad temperments. Trainers will test the dogs and if they believe that they are too aggressive, they will put them down. (Just learned this recently as we took a stray there.) However, their #1 goal is to place dogs in good homes.
Tell your friend to also try Columbus All-Breed. http://www.columbusallbreed.com/questions.php
They may be able to point them in a good direction for any local Mastiff Rescues or Clubs.
She could also put them on petfinder.com
Someone out there might want them.
