Last minute Food bank GTG
So, this idea just came about and I apparetnly voluenteered to do some organizing. So if you want a little history read my post below about being fortunate. the short story is that food banks in the area are critically low on food and I thought it might be nice to give something back in time for the easter rush on the food banks.
this is what I was thinking; we'll GTG on Monday 3/17 and everyone can bring their non-perishable items I'll collect them and take them to the Mid-ohio food bank on Tuesday.
I was thinking that we could get to gether at Applebee's on Ackerman Dr. and Olentangy river road as that's the most central in columbus, however we can always move it if we end up with a bunch of people from one area of town. I want this to be convenient for as many people as possible.
I was thinking we could plan to GTG at 5:30 to whenever people leave.
Let me know if you are interested in showing up.
Be sure to make sure anything you donate hasn't expired!
Re: Last minute Food bank GTG
Ok, I live up near Powell/Worthingon, so maybe we could meet up on Sunday sometime?
FYI ----- Monday the 17th is St. Patty's Day. It might be a zoo to get together at a restaurant on that day!!
To be honest I heard that the food banks were critically short I just planned on going through my own pantry and donating but thought if anyone wanted to I'd offer to take theirs in as well. If nobody thinks a GTG then is really feasiable for anyone which it is sounding like it's not I am more than willing to have those who want me to run some stuff to the food bank for them I'm more than willing to have them drop it off at my house.
To be honest I didn't even think about Monday being St. Patty's day, or was I really aware there was a GTG on Tuesday. Sorry!
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to rain on your parade.... just wanted to point out that a GTG on the 17th might be difficult. I think it's an awesome idea. I will donate to my local Delaware food bank in honor of your post!
I wasn't on hardly at all before about a month ago and I remember hearing about it somewhat but I wasn't involved enough to really pay attention to it so it didn't even cross my mind, I didn't feel left out or anything.
I'm horrible about doing stuff at the last minute so I'm fairly used to thinking "hey you know we should____" and it not comming to fruition. I'm to the point I'm pretty easy going about stuff like this anyway.
I do appreciate anyone who donoates to a food bank.
Their address is 1625 W Mound St, Columbus, OH
and I know they said to call before you came, they might also be able to tell you alternate areas to drop off stuff. their phone number is 274-7770
Mrs. Sabrina, e-mail me when you get a minute! amber at lcrohio dot com
Thanks!
