I just heard about a study that said women and babies benefited if folic acid was taken at least 1 year PTC.
I don't think I'll know a year before DH and I TTC. Maybe I should just start now.
Re: s/o Vitamins
I've been reading a lot about that too so I've been taking them even though it could be 2 or 3 years before we TTC. I figure it can't hurt and would rather be safe in case something happened earlier.
I've also read a lot of groups encouraging Planned Parenthood to give out vitamins to everyone who comes in asking for birthcontrol. So basically saying everyone who is sexually active should be taking vitamins. not a bad idea.
I've been taking a multi-vitamin religiously for about 6 mos. now, and it can't hurt, so when we do TTC, I'll already have been taking vitamins for a while. That was my thought process!
