XP from baby board: Prayer request
My niece, Mattie, is very very sick. She is 2 years old.
Right before Thanksgiving, Mattie was diagnosed with a brain tumor - medulloblastoma. It's in her brain / spinal area. The day before Thanksgiving, she had emergency surgery to remove it. A few weeks before Christmas, she was transferred to St. Jude's Hospital. BIL and SIL up and moved to Memphis. SIL lost her job. BIL was taking FLMA and driving from Memphis to Toledo and working short shifts, to keep health insurance for the family and to visit with his older daughter, who is living with her mom right now. Because her Daddy had to move away with her little sister.
BIL lost his job yesterday.
Mattie has been undergoing chemo and bi-weekly spinal taps / MRIs. The last spinal results showed "suspicious cells" and today's test results proved there are cancer cells in her spinal fluid. They will perform another MRI and see if the cancer is back. She will begin a new regemin of chemo and/or radiation on Monday.
So, please pray for little Mattie. If you don't pray, please pass on positive thoughts. Or shop at Target. Target provides the housing for our family for free. 100% free. Shop at Kroger. They give our family a food voucher to eat while down there. Hope for this snow to end. The community is holding a benefit this weekend in Toledo for Mattie. Because, you know....cancer doesn't care if you still have a house payment, a car payment, or whatever. We want to be there, but the weather is preventing it at this point. We simply can not miss it. Not sure how we will make it there, but we will....
