be careful out there girls

I made what ended up being not the smartest decision of my life and met DH for lunch at Easton (Connor got sick yesterday at daycare so I had to stay home with him today).  The roads weren't that bead going out and I was  able to go between 60 and 65 mph on the highway.  I was there for about 90 minutes and on the way home I topped out at 40 mph and the roads are getting pretty bad.  Just be careful if you have to go out today/tonight.

Re: be careful out there girls

  • The vet clinic that has Kassie is closing @ 3pm and the vet said that 315 was closed because of so many accidents (not sure if this is just Delaware 315 or where).
  • yeah just about everyone here at work has flown the coop already!
  • eek.....sounds scary.  No mention here of closing early...I was sort of hoping for it, though!

    Thanks for the info, jen!
  • We tried to go to the pediatrician and got out of our neighborhood and turned right back around.  The roads are TERRIBLE and we rescheduled our appointment.  It's just not worth it.
  • No mention of closing here at work. We provide interpretation services to hospitals so we are open 24/7 here. It's possible that a shift of interpreters will get stuck here overnight or no beable to leave.  I hope they are going to be ok, we're down town and not much food wise is open in the area after hours/on the weekends.  I just hope that I get to go home!
  • By 11:00 this morning, I had spoken to more than 5 of the guys at work and they all said it was getting bad.  Then my dad called and said that he didn't go above 10mph from Pickerington to CW.

I told my boss, I'm leaving!  I called the sitter, told her I was picking boogs up early, and headed out.  My normal 20 minute commute took an hour!

Dh just got home too (2 hours early) so thankfully we're all home safe and sound.

DH has to plow roads tomorrow in CW (watch out if you live there!  j/k) so please say a prayer that he's safe!
  • Yeah the roads are terrible...I ended up sideways on the road twice...luckily I was on back roads and the people around me weren't going fast.
  • No mention of closing early here either. Not looking forward to the drive home. My usual 30 minute drive will probably take 2 hours.

  • 315 south of 270 is open.  Took me twice as long to get home.  Looks as though everyone is being careful.  I hope everyone gets to go home early!
  • Normally leave at 4 anyway, so I'm out of here in less than 10 minutes.  But seeing as all the other universities in the city have closed, I'm a little upset that we haven't.  Oh well.  Just waiting to hear from DH (we carpool).
  • Hey Allison - I was down on campus today for Orientation and my normal 20 min. drive to Canal took an hour!!  Definitely Craptastic!!!  Not to mention, I was soaked from walking everywhere - double craptastic!!!
