What is wrong with me?? kinda long

For the last couple of weeks I have been having these chest pains. I went to the dr. last week and he said that everything was fine. My lungs were clear and everything sounded good. Yesterday it started getting worse, it hurts when I inhale/exhale, cough, and laugh. Last night it kept me up alot, I couldn't even sleep on my stomach it hurt so bad. The pain is in the center of my boobs closer to the right one. I have another dr. appt today. But my fear is they are going to say they do not know what is wrong, and everything looks fine. I had Mono a few weeks ago I don't know if it is from that?  Has anyone had similar pains, or have any clue what it could be. I am just sitting on the couch and it hurts to breath.  TIA

could your back be out of alignment? Ever been to a chiro?

 One of the reasons I went to the dr. last week, because my back had been hurting.  So yeah I guess it could be. The dr. just said it sounded like a muscle problem and gave me muscle relaxers. I have been having some really bad headaches too. I haven't been to a chiro.

Is it heartburn?  Have you tried taking Tums or Pepcid?  It could also be a pulled muscle?  Were you lifting weights or anything strenuous right before it started hurting?

I just got back from the doctor and he is saying I still have Mono and it is from that. But he had me get a chest xray done. I guess if it is something else I will find out in a few days. He did put me on some meds for imflamation. I guess thats suppose to help my headaches and whatever this chest pain is?!?! Sometimes I feel like he doesn't really have a clue.

cjn, If your Dr. isn't able to answer your questions to your satisfaction find another Dr.  I'm not saying your's is wrong with how he's treating you, I wouldn't know I'm not a Dr. but you "feeling like he doesn't have a clue" is a red flag for me that perhaps your Dr. isn't the best match for you.  It's ok to be super picky about Dr's, I was and finally found one that I love and is a great match for me.

That is something my DH and I have been talking about. I was actually going to ask if anyone had any referrals. We will be moving to Delaware in the next couple of months. I just do not have much faith in what he tells me. My DH had to have his ACL completely reconstructed and the dr. said it was a simple sprain. So I completely agree with you. I am in the market for a new dr.
