S/O voting- names on the ballot

Kucinich and Edwards were listed on the Dem. ballot as candidates? Didn't they drop out? What's up with that?

Re: S/O voting- names on the ballot

  • they probably dropped out too late to change the ballots that is all.
  • I've asked Jeff about that before.  He said that the ballots were likely printed before the the candidates dropped out.
On the ticker I have seen things like "Edwards - 2%" of the vote.  I just assumed that it was from being written in, but it's likely their names were still on the ballot.
  • interesting. you'd think our system would be able to keep up with things like that, they dropped out a looong time ago! seems to me it might be confusing to people.  (just like you said jenn, actually getting a small percentage of the vote) there wasn't any place for me to write in a name.
  • Yeah, I think if you start off in the race, you name stays on there till the end.  What really sucked is for all those people who voted early in Cali and other states who voted for someone who dropped out in the mean time.  Their vote REALLY doesn't count.  Have fun today ladies!
  • There was a neon pink flyer next to my machine that said votes for Kucinich & Edwards would not count because they were no longer running.
  • yeah even a flyer would have worked, there wasnt anything on mine
