Don't forget to vote!!

Whatever your political persuasion may be, please don't forget to vote today.  Remember that if you don't vote today, you have no right to complain about tax levies that passed or about the choices for President in November.

Re: Don't forget to vote!!

  • I woke up today like it was Christmas morning!  I am sooo excited for you all to vote!!
  • I chose to wait until this afternoon but I'm with you magic  if you don't vote you don't get to complain.  Go be heard!  I'll be standing in line after I get off work no matter how long it is!!!
  • Done before work!  Super fast and easy today, too--no lines at all :)
  • im going after work

I may regret that decision later but oh well

    so question . . .

this is the first presidential primary i'm voting in ... and i was wondering

If I am registered as a Democrat, can I vote for a Republican in the primary?

I don't see why it would make a difference, but more than one person has told me that you can only vote for the party that you are registrerd with for the Primary. BS or true?

  • Simi, you just have to choose one or the other.  You get to declare which you're going to vote for when you show up.  If you wanted to vote ONLY for the Republican candidate, you could choose to do so...but if you want to vote for Democratic candidate, you have to choose one or the other.  :)  (It was, unfortunately, my first primary, as well)
  • I am a registered independent however I can vote in either primary using a provisional ballot but it will change my voter registration to that party.

according to the franklin county BOE your politics (party) is determined by the ballot you vote in the primary.  I think that means you can choose what ballot to vote but you might want to call them and check.

  • yeah its my first too! i wanted to vote for one republican over the other, and one democrat over the other :-P silly me!
  • thanks Allison! that is good to know :)
  • I would have voted already this morning, but my bosses failed to let us know we could come in late to vote before work. Of course they made sure that they voted this morning!!  Gotta love em!! By the way it is my first one too! I am excitd, other than waiting in the lines...
  • I'll be stopping by tonight on my way home from the gym. I'm so torn as who to vote for. I'm registered for one party, but voting for another party. But the other party, I'm not sure who to vote for! ARRGGHHH
  • I voted before work, too! No lines!! :)

  • I voted before work and was surprised how short the lines were. But I was downtown last night and saw lines out the door for early voters.

For those who are undecided... I think it is SOOO worth the time to go onto the different candidate Web sites and see where they stand on the issues that are important to YOU. There ARE differences between all of them... and a commercial or TV host can't really get those differences across.

    Happy Voting!

  • Voted at lunch!

  • Voted after work and before going to the "Y".  I was so nervous!  I almost changed my mind before I went.  I called DH I was so excited.  (I think its my 3rd primary, I started at 18!)
  • took me about 5 minutes total!

yeah for no lines.. but does that mean that turn out wasn't good? :(
