Recs for Sushi Party Trays

My SIL, who lives in Texas, is throwing a 30th birthday party for a mutual friend who lives here in Orlando, and I'm trying to help her with some of the planning.

The party's going to be in the birthday boy's home with about 18 guests, and SIL would like to have sushi trays as part of the refreshments. Do you have any recommendations for a good place where we can carry-out party-size trays of sushi? (We don't need delivery or full catering services).

I know Publix does this, and we've ordered from them before, but this party is supposed be kind of special, so if possible, I think SIL would like to get something that's really, really good.

The party's in East Orlando (Waterford Lakes), but we live near downtown so anywhere around or between those two areas is fine.

TIA for any recommendations you can share! Thanks!

Re: Recs for Sushi Party Trays

  • I don't know if they do party trays, but Fuji Sushi in Waterford Lakes is one of our favorite spots (much better sushi than Publix IMO). Since they're close to the party location, I'd call them first. 407-277-0060

  • Ichiban or Amura (both downtown) are both awesome, and I would think they would work with you. Ichiban has the "Incredible Roll" which really is incredible Wink
  • You may want to try Whole Foods in WP - it's not far from downtown.  Their brown rice rolls are yummy.
  • Thanks, ladies! Those are all great suggestions.

One more quick question: has anyone ordered from Bikkuri on Colonial? It seems like their prices are really affordable, but I'd like to make sure their food is good.

    Thanks!

  • I've had sushi from there.  It's very fresh.
  • I've had party trays from Bikuri before and they were good and really affordable.  Not the best sushi I've ever had in my life, but it was fresh and worked perfectly for a dinner party a few months ago.
  • I've eaten at Bikkuri before. It's good but not the best. You might even want to try Sams/Costco... I think there sushi would be about the same grade as bikkuri's!

    good luck.
