Question about finding a realtor...
I think this is my first post on the nest, although I lurk from time to time to see what might be going on in Columbus. Considering my DH and I know relatively few people in the area, I'm hoping you girls can help me with a realtor question.
What should I look for in a realtor? How do I go about finding someone to work with? Currently we own a condo in the Short North/Victorian Village area, but are hoping to move somewhere closer to work. (We both work past Marysville and commuting from downtown really adds to our day!) We think we are going to look in the Worthington area, because we want a more established neighborhood with trees that feels like more of what we both grew up with (I'm from Boston area, and he's from North Carolina). Would the same realtor who knows about selling downtown condos be beneficial for properties in the suburb of Worthington?? Does anyone have any recommendations for realtors in either of these areas?
Sorry if any of this seems silly. Without family around, it's tough to get a good feel for referrals or information on the area!
Re: Question about finding a realtor...
HTH! We had called MANY realtors and were treated like crap b/c of our price range. Wendy treated us like real people. I appreciated that.
We have a couple of Nestie realtors here on the board and I think any of them could help you with the area you're looking at.
Personally, we used shannanicole (Shanna--you can email her at shannalafontaine@yahoo.com as I'm not sure how much she's around the board) to help us buy a house. She did a fantastic job and I know a few other Nesties have used her. She knows a lot about condos as well and is always willing to take time for her clients.
The other two realtors (very nice people but don't have any personal experience with them as realtors!) are AmberOH and JulieR.
Amber and Shanna, I may be emailing you soon!
