Need Co-Ed Bridal Shower Ideas

My mom and I are having a co-ed shower for my sister and her fiance.  My sister went all out for my bridal and baby shower and I want to do the same for her except I am so not creative!

Does anyone have any ideas for showers or favors?  We were thinking about doing a Mexican themed shower or an around the clock shower.

We are up for anything!  Thanks!

Re: Need Co-Ed Bridal Shower Ideas

  • I am not sure what an around the clock shower is.  We had a co-ed shower and DH's only request was that there was no theme or games played.  The shower was thrown by his mom and aunt and we just had dinner and drinks.  It was nice but not very shower-ey.  Maybe just rent space @ a cute restaurant or bar and have an open "house"
  • I've never been to a coed shower so I don't have any ideas from personal experience but I suggest checking out this blog and website for ideas:

Also, I agree with pp - make it less showery and more of just a fun party so the guys don't lose interest.

  • We had a co-ed shower thrown by DH's family and it was really cute - they gave us an OSU Football theme.  (We both love it and our wedding was during football season)  We had dinner and drinks and only played 2 games . . .we did a word scrable that was all OSU related words and we did something else???  Then opened gifts :)  It's harder when males are involved, so you could always just go the route of having a very nice/elegant dinner.  Good Luck!
  • I've done this twice and been to one. The ones I've thrown have been an OSU themed one (similar to what the above poster mentioned), and a luau complete with leis, grass skirts and foo foo drinks. Surprisingly the guys had more fun at the luau I think since we told them to wear hawaiian shirts. The co-ed shower I attended was a casino night theme where the guests would play poker or roulette with fake money. These were all night showers, btw, and turned into parties more than "showers". Good luck! :)
  • We went to a coed shower and, while it wasn't themed, they had a fantastic game....we basically played The Newlywed Game (questions like "If your husband could build a swimming pool in any shape, what shape would it be?" and one of DH's cousins said "My wife's face" and she got it right!!!!) with DH's cousins and brother and SIL (all had been married less than 2 years).  You could do that with some of the couples who are dating or some that have been married for any amount of time (maybe sets of parents of the bride & groom or bridal party or something like that?).  It was a really fun time!
