Cincinnati Nestie needing assistance

Hi ladies-

My girl friend is trying to plan a fun night in Columbus for her boyfriend's 28th birthday. She wants to go eat somewhere really good, but fun, then rent a limo to drive the crew to some different bars. (this is a group of eight 28 year old guys and her)

At Halloween we came up and did the Arean District. She's ok with doing that again, but would love some other suggestions.

Also, suggestions of  inexpensive/reliable limo companies to contact? Thanks!!

Re: Cincinnati Nestie needing assistance

  • They could do Melting Pot, which is fondue--it can be fun or romantic, depending on who goes.  That's at Easton, on the east side.

They could also do BD's Mongolian BBQ, which is in the Arena District--where everyone put together bowls of meats, veggies, and sauces, it's cooked on a big grill...sort of interactive and fun.

There's also a Japanese steakhouse (called The Japanese Steakhouse) downtown close to the Arena District if they wanted to stay in that area.

The Arena District is really the best place for bars, especially if wanting to bar-hop, so I'd probably stick with down there.

  • Um... for a group of men I'd second the above poster's recommendation for the Mongolian bbq or the Japanese Steakhouse, and I'd throw O'Shaunnessey's (irish pub) out there too (all in the Arena district). Really the only good place for bar hopping is the Arena district, and since everything is within walking distance right there you really don't need to get a limo. That is, unless you wanted to start at Easton and then travel downtown or vice versa. I don't have any recs for limo companies though. I hope your friend's boyfriend has fun!
  • Mynt is a bar that has been getting a lot of good press recently.
  • The Short North is awesome for this sort of thing! Lots of great places to eat, drink, stroll. These sites might help: www.shortnorth.org www.experiencecolumbus.com
