McCormick & Schmicks

Thoughts? Good, bad, save your money, etc.

Thanks.

Re: McCormick & Schmicks

  • I have heard eh reviews. Pricey & the food is just so-so.
But I have never been so I can't speak for myself.
  • I've only been once and don't remember anything bad about the food itself. I'm sure the food was very good, but the experience was clouded by the waitress we had. She was so bad we thought it must be a joke or something. She walked away without taking the entire party's orders, she sort of tossed the wine bottle into the wine bucket so it clanged and made us all jump, just stuff like that. We actually got a voucher for part of our meals after talking to the manager.

That said, I think it was an isolated incident and wouldn't hold it against the restaurant as a whole. I would go back and give it another shot.

Also, they used to have a free $25 gift certificate on their website, I thought, but I just looked and couldn't find it.
  • The 2 times we've been there, the food and service were great!  Their calamari (and dessert, if you have room) is awesome!

  • we have loved it there. DH got something last time that was to DIE for. You might want to search on slickdeals first b/c sometimes we find a great coupon. Last time we went it was 25.00 off.
  • It's good.  I've been there a few times and have had great food.  The sea scallops are awesome.
  • Great food!!  We've been there twice and each time we had the $25 free gift certificate that everyone is referring to.
  • The cashew crusted tilapia with Jamaican rum butter sauce is to.die.for.

I also like the stuffed shrimp (stuffed with crab meat).

It will cost about $80 for an appetizer, 2 meals, and soft drinks, but I think it's worth it for a special occasion.  If you can get a $25 discount, definitely try it!

  • We eat out a lot for my husband's business and we have hosted a few client events there and have always had a bad experience. I think the food is good, but overpriced for what you get and the servers were rude and in my opinion the food is not worth the poor experience...I prefer Mitchell's or Hyde Park for a good steak

  • I have been their several times and the food is always very good!!!  They are pretty pricey, but the seafood is really good and the services has always been good.  My DH is lucky because he gets a discount there because of where he works!!
  • Personally, I would save your money...Chris and I went once last year and we didn't like it. We have no problem dropping money for dinner, but it was not worth what we paid.  Our waiter was a jerk and the food was very blah...the calamari was just OK and my crab cakes were disgusting...I couldn't even finish them they were so dry.
  • This might be too late, but we have been a couple of times and love it!
