Recommend your Inspector!

So, DH and I just went into contract on a house! I was hoping someone on here could recommend a home inspector that they have used? Of course our agent has recommendations but its always nice to get opinions from people who have actually been in the buyers position with the inspector.

Thanks!!

Re: Recommend your Inspector!

  • Congratulations!!!  I don't remember the name of ours.....but I got the recommendation from Shanna and he was really nice and easygoing and VERY helpful.
  • I don't have a recommendation, but congrats!!!  DH and I are continuing our house hunting this weekend.

  • Shanna recommended ours too (maybe same as Allison's) and we really liked him.  I forget his name but Shanna should know.
  • This is who I used:

    Larry Stumph
    WIN Home Inspection

    Shanna recommended him

  • Yeah Larry...that was him!
  • congrats! Details on the house please (part of town, # of bedrooms, etc) :)
  •  Its near the northern 71/270 interchange, just south east of that south of that. Its in Columbus, but I do not know if that neighborhood has any specific name, just south of Shrock Rd.

4 bedrooms, 1.5 bath, nice lot, and a gorgeous 4 season porch and deck.

    We are very excited!
  • Wow. that was incoherent. The should read "It is near the northern 71/270 interchange, just south east of that." without the extra sentence fragment.
  • I am pretty sure that is pretty close to where my friends bought a house back in June.  They live off Cleveland Ave just south of 270. So, pretty much around the same vicinity you are moving to if I am remembering my Columbus geography correctly.

  • I used Home Scan and was very impressed with them. I bought a new house but still wanted my own inspector just to make sure I didn't miss anything, so I was afraid he'd just do a minor visual inspection and assume everything was okay, but he didn't - he spent about 2-1/2 hours going over every detail, getting up in the attic, telling me what to do with my furnace and the pipes in the basement, etc. I felt very comfortable with his assessment. Congrats on the house!
  • We used Home Scan as well...very thorough. He even made me climb up in the attic and explained to me exactly what I was looking at. Congrats on the new house!
  • I've recommended Pillar to Post (Tim Buell) to many past clients, and have been happy with his services.  I've heard of the other inspectors recommended on here to, and I'm sure you'll get a great home inspection with any of them!  Congrats on the house!
