Anyone been to Tahiti or the surrounding island?s

If so, did you call home and if yes to that, how?  My DH isn't coming with me on my sailing trip and I'll be gone 2 weeks.  I want to touch base with him.  My sprint cell phone isn't able to make international calls.  I've heard phone cards, but I'm having a hard time finding one that has access in the French Polynesian.  Any suggestions?  (I did post this on the travel board too but I like you ladies a lot!)

Re: Anyone been to Tahiti or the surrounding island?s

  • I have no idea but I'm adding you to my dislike list.  I'm so extremely jealous of you getting to go to Tahiti.  Despite my jealousy, I do hope you have a good trip!!
  • Thanks... I've been told that a lot lately, although I'm going with my MIL and people forget that sometimes! :)  Hehehe - how bad can it be right?
  • I don't know, but my BFF and her DH went a couple years ago, so I'll ask her when I talk to her.
  • Im not familiar with Tahiti, but when we went to Mexico I called family using my cc and it was sooooo expensive. I had traveled to Acapulco with girlfriends a few years prior and used a calling card and it worked fine, much cheaper also. Im sure it's similar to most international calls, so I would purchase a calling card.

Have a WONDERFUL vacation and bring the sunshine back with you! :)
