Is your gas bill rediculous this month?

Ours was nearly $300! I nearly choked when I opened it!

We do keep the heat on 72 for me, b/c my medical condition is exacerbated by the cold, and our house is 1400 sq ft, but we keep the vents and doors closed in 2 of the bedrooms. I also sleep with an electric blanket and put an electric heater in the bathroom in the mornings to shower by. And it's STILL be freezing in this house!

Ours was higher, but not ridiculous....it was $145.  But we also keep our house around 65.  House is 1500 sq ft and 2 stories.  *shrug*

Can you do the budget plan?  My gas bill is the same all year (less than $100), and the winter months get evened out by the summer. 

My house is 2k sq. feet, and my heat is between 65 and 67.

Following up on Kristylynn -- check with your gas company when your budget year starts.  For me, they said to sign up in July, otherwise you may be paying more because it all has to even out in the end.  I'm sucking it up until July.

Ours was a lil over 300. Our apt is 700 sq ft. I'm getting out of here next month.
