How are the roads?

I'm feeling crappy, so I've logged into work from home and am hoping they can say I can work from home today. We'll see...of course, I'm an early bird, so I won't hear anything until at least 8am.

Re: How are the roads?

  • I stayed home too Liz. I wasn't feeling great and with the weather I too decided to work from home.
  • They weren't too bad for us but I am coming from the opposite of town.
  • Roads are fine.  Slightly snow covered but no big deal.  If we get freezing rain later that could be interesting.

I can't believe they closed the schools for this.
  • I don't know about the roads. But I think they closed the schools for the storm they are anticipating today. Have you seen the radar? eek! :)
  • I stayed home too.  I have a meeting @ 2 that I wanted to go to though.  I think there is a reorg. coming. :)
  • it took ryan over an hour to get to work and he left at 630. i stayed home, i have a cold or something and can do my work from home too. i didn't want to try and get home this evening, a big ice storm is coming our way.
  • It took DH and hour to get from Pickerington to the airport at 6:30am. I hope he's okay coming home tonight!

I'm surprised they closed school but maybe if ice is coming, then its easier to not have school than to scramble to get all the kids home, y'know?

  • Took us an hour to get to work and it normally takes less than 30 minutes.  The freeways seemed okay, but the side streets are pretty rough--I was slipping and sliding my whole way to the office today and it sounds like it's going to get worse. We definitely plan on leaving as soon as I'm done with my training at 2 today to miss the heavy traffic and (hopefully) some of the ice storm.  Yuck.
  • It took my 2 and half hours to get to the office.  I came in from Pickerington and by the time I got on the freeway (about 8am) they were covered and not that great.  I saw plenty of fender benders.

    Hope everyone got around ok.
  • I turned around and came home :)  So I kind of gave myself a Snow Day.  I was on Gender Road for about 40 minutes and said to hell with it - on a normal day, I'm on Gender for less than 5 minutes!!
  • The roads in Hilliard/Dublin/UA were awful. I don't have to get on the highway to come to work, it normally takes me 12-15minutes and it took me an hour! I even have 4wd! Ick.
  • Yeah, when I posted earlier, the roads weren't as bad as they are now.  I got here at 7:30 and it took us maybe 10 extra minutes to get here, I had to run to the bank at 8:00 and the roads were noticably worse.  I feel kind of bad for the guy plowing our parking lot though, it is a neverending job today :o(
  • UA is horrible...it took me a over a half hour to get to campus this morning, and it's a short commute from UA to Ohio State.
  • I agree. I waited a while to go into work, thinking that would give them time to get things plowed. Uh, no. Effing 670 was way worse than my drive thru Gahanna. It was just inches of snow and I kept spinning out for no reason. I kept thinking, I so do not get paid enough to nearly kill myself to get to work.
  • My drive to work north on 315 and 23 to Delaware was completely fine.  I did 50 the whole way.  Hopefully it stays good until 5:30 when I get to go home!!!
  • I was just out driving in the Hilliard/UA area, and the roads were not so good, didn't go faster than 25 anywhere, even in 50 zones.
  • I drive from Delaware to Hilliard for work, and the roads were not too bad this morning. They have been worse this winter, but God bless my boss who let us go 2.5 hours after I got in! So I am home today in comfy clothes & hanging with my doggy. So nice!
