How can I get rid of...

used textbooks. They're all "outdated" meaning there are new versions on the market, but at most they're only 4 years old. I know I won't get any money out of them, but I have a hard time throwing them away, so is there some place that will take used textbooks as a donation? My library in Delaware won't take textbooks, so just wondering if anyone knows where I can take them. Thanks!

Re: How can I get rid of...

  • Half Price Books will take them. They send them to impoverished countries.
  • Some interior designers may want them to use as props in model homes, or some kids might like to play school with them....unless it's like human anatomy or something! PS, I have NO idea where to take them, but those are my 2 ideas.
  • My friend in Kenya was collecting books for village libraries, but given the state of things there right now I probably wouldn't send them. Half-Price-Books or any organization that collects books on behalf of needy countries would be my suggestion.
  • Otterbein will accept them in their book store for children in Africa.

  • I second Half Price Books.  I took mine there.  They even paid for a few.
