Sam is home! Will comes home tomorrow!
We brought our little guy home from the NICU this afternoon and so far so good.... thank god for my mother though. Tomorrow we will get to pick up Will and then our little family will be home and complete.
My recovery has been just ok. My hemoglobin levels are really low which means I have less blood and low iron than I'm supposed to. Normal is 12-15 and mine is 6.2. However, since it went from 6.0 to 6.2 the ins. company said that was an increasing "trend" so they wouldn't let me stay in the hospital even though I probably should have. I'm very tired and light headed but I still just want to take care of my baby and not myself.
)
Thanks for all the well wishes!
Re: Sam is home! Will comes home tomorrow!
Alicia, that's fantastic news!!!
You really do need to take care of yourself some, though. You've got your DH and your mom to help and to take care of the boys, so get yourself healthy so you can be the best mommy possible!!!
Congratulations!!
yeah thats awesome news.
i had low blood iron after my first. are you still taking the prenatal vitamins?
Be sure to take care of yourself ~ it's no good for anyone if you end up back in the hospital.
Take care of yourself, Alicia. My H&H was 6 after having the boys (I lost 2700ccs of blood and they didn't transfuse) I know how awful, dizzy, weak, etc. I felt. I almost landed myself back in the hospital.
Congrats to you on Sam being home and I hope Will coming home today goes well. Use your mom as much as you can, and e-mail me if I can help at all!
I can't believe they didn't transfuse you. There are so many things wrong with that on so many levels. Honestly, if you walked in the ER where I work now, they would order you AT LEAST 2 units. We transfuse at least 2 if you are 7 or less. That is so dangerous, no matter how young and healthy you are otherwise. (I can't believe they didn't transfuse Meghan either!! She'd have had hers hanging on the way to OR!) I guess that's the difference with us being smaller even though we are OhioHealth. Our protocols are a little different.
Take care of you so you can take care of your babies. Enjoy every minute of having your Mom around-Moms are the best in the first few weeks
Wonderful!! Good luck to you and the boys!
Congrats on the babies being so healthy good luck with everything and be careful. Tami is right they should definately have transfused you below 7. Normal Hemo for women is 13ish.
Yay! that's wonderful news that your gorgeous boys are doing so well. I'm so sorry you're not feeling so well though -- please do take care of yourself. I know how hard it is though -- I'm focusing way more on baby than myself too.
HUGS, and congrats on Sam and Will !!!!
