So - what did everyone think? Personally, I'm not a Pats fan, so I was pleased with the Giants win. Let me also just say, I'm not a Giants fan either
What did everyone think of the earlier game time? I was pretty excited that I was able to stay awake to see the end
How about the commercials? I really liked the Sobe one with all the animals/creatures dancing to Thriller! Cracked me up.
I'd also like to say that I never have liked Billichek (sp), but after him running off the field last night with time on the clock, I like him even less. Honestly - 1 second wasn't going to kill ya.

Re: Superbowl - Discuss :)
I agree with all of your comments! Although overall, I thought the commericals were really dull. None I really thought stood out as "superbowl quality" so to say.
I'm glad the Pats got beat and didn't beat the Dolphins for a perfect season. It was a good game, one of the best in years...ususally I fall asleep before the end cuz it's on too late and it's a blowout.
I didn't see any great commericals, so I took a nap and missed a bunch. Wish I saw the Sobe one.
*Off to watch it online*
I didn't think there were many stand-out commercials. One of my friends said it was probably due to the writer's strike since they're all in the same union.
1) I'm glad it's over so life can return to normal out here in Phoenix. Traffic on Saturday was horrible in Scottsdale and Tempe and places charged outrageous cover charges and raised their drink prices. Blah.
2) I'm glad the Giants won. I thought the game was really good and it went by really fast. The David Tyree catch was AMAZING.
3) I like Tom Petty, but didn't think it was a good halftime show choice. His music is so mellow and for the Superbowl, I think the musical act should be really upbeat.
4) Jordin Sparks did a really good job with the national anthem.
5) The commercials sucked for the most part. My favorite was the NFL player's one (end of the 3rd quarter) about the oboe player.
I thought the ads were great this year. Normally I'm bored with them but there were several this year that gave me a chuckle. The eTrade talking baby, the FedEx carrier pigeons, and my favorite the Coke commercial with Frist and Carville.
All made for a great night of tv.
E*Trade Baking Baby was pretty good and both the Bridgestone
Really liked Jordin Sparks, didn't really care either way about Tom Petty, although I agree and thought it was a little too mellow for Halftime.
It made me smile when the kept showing Peyton cheering for his lil' bro
It was a great game--but one thing that annoyed me was each time the camera cut to Giselle she was swirling her red wine and looking completely unamused. Come on---you're boyfriend is a QB in the superbowl. Would it kill you to show any excitement??
Aggghhh, I hate during big sporting events when they cut to the girlfriend/fiance/wife of the athletes. Also hate when they cut away to the celebrities in attendance.
Also, WTF was up with the red carpet and Ryan Seacrest hosting the pregame festivities? It's like they were trying to make it like the freaking Oscars or something. It is a football game!!
And this is just a general sports vent, but I hate hate hate the pink athletic gear for women! I saw a girl on Saturday night at Superbowl event wearing a pink Welker Pats jersey with rhinestones on it. I seriously think she bought it because she thinks Welker is hot.
1. I'm bumbed the Patriots lost. I love Brady and Vrable. So so sad today.
2. Tom Petty sucked ass. That guy is so old!
3. Jordin Sparks was awesome. She's so stinking beautiful.
4. I loved the Bud Lite commercial where the guy was breathing fire and caught his date and her cat on fire!
I wanted both teams to win. I would have been happy either way.
My favorite commercials were the goodyears- with the screaming animals, and then the one with Richard Simmons.
As for Belichick, I have no problem with him leaving the field. The clock counted down to zero. He went out on the field, shook hands with the other coach, and left the field. While I am sure he was told before he left that another play had to be run, it really was over, and he looked like he was about to cry. Its not like he dissed the other coach/did not congratulate them.
i was glad the giants won, it was lame of the pats coach to walk off with time on the clock!
I loved the baby commericals (e-trade) that was about the only commercial that really made me LOL
I was glad it was earlier game time too, as long as the west coasties aren't complaining i think it works well!
1. Jordin Sparks was awesome!!
2. The earlier gametime was great. It was so nice to be able to watch the whole thing and still go to bed at a decent hour.
3. I'm so glad the Giants won! I was rooting for them the whole time. Mostly just because I hate the Patriots and didn't think they deserved to have the perfect season. The Giants deserved to win though. They out played the Pats, plain and simple. And that last drive was just incredible.
4. The commercials were eh. I wasn't all that impressed. I did like the Etrade baby though. I also missed some of them so I need to go catch up on those.
I am not a Pats fan or a Giants fan, but I was definitely rooting for the Giants and was very proud of them : )
The commercials were really funny! I loved the E*Trade one with the baby!
1) Hate dynasties in general, so I hate the Pats. Was SO glad to see the Giants win. The Tyree catch off his helmet was fantastic.
2) Hate pink sports stuff.
3) Belichick is a d!ckwad. If I didn't already think that, I might not have been as p!ssed off by the end of the game stuff, but I already thought he was a tool, so that just confirmed that. Oh, and whoever said Tom Brady is a douche bag is totally right.
4) I thought Peyton was cute. Normally I hate seeing celebrities (like Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy??), but thought it was cute that Peyton was down in the corner by himself, totally focused. A Nestie's sister on a nat'l board saw him at the airport and talked to him and said he was like a little kid, so excited for his little brother.
5) Loved the E*Trade baby, loved the Ben Roethlisberger commercial for American Idol (he went to HS with DH and actually played the violin, I think...but couldn't sing then, either), loved the NFL story with the dude playing the oboe...although I must admit that I voted for Nick Mangold and then, in the next round, Josh Cribbs. *shrug* But y'all are right--it was definitely a down year for commercials.
I liked the earlier game time. I can't do late games or nights. I was actually able to stay up for the whole thing!
I liked the SOBE ad, but I didn't hear anyone else talk about it. It was def. my fav.
I thought BBG was a not nice guy to run off the field before it was really over. He just reminded me of some nether regions.
